Q: My Typhoon H (non-real sense) has trouble acquiring aircraft GPS lock often. When it finally does acquire aircraft GPS, I can launch and fly. Usually I have trouble landing though afterwards. Full left stick down and the aircraft won't descend. If I engage RTH (return to home) function, it will eventually land but not without an argument. In your experience, is the GPS unit a reasonable solution?
A: I would make sure you are doing a compass calibration to make sure the gps is functioning correctly. Also I would check your hardware monitor to ensure the joysticks are functioning correctly. When the sticks are not functioning correctly typically you will have issues like the ones you are having.
Q: Are there aftermarket GPS units one can purchase? I know a significant number of pilots that seem to have bad luck with the factory GPS (glitching and flyaways).
A: There are aftermarket GPS units out there, but we only recommend OEM parts
Q: Do you do Yuneec warranty service work?
If not I have a compass failure on my typhoon H that continues after 3 successful compass calibrations. What does it take to get it fixed parts & labor etc.
A: We are a certified repair center but do not perform warranty work. You will need to contact Yuneec directly. If you would like to have us repair your unit please fill out the form on the following link: https://www.vertigodrones.com/Certified-Repairs-and-Services_ep_49-1.html
