3-Axis Gimbal Camera
The Mavic Air is by far the most compact DJI drone to feature a 3-axis mechanical gimbal. Gimbal dampeners are set in a triangular formation, reducing the angular vibration to an impressive 0.005°. You now have the ability to shoot professional-grade photos and videos with a drone that fits in your pocket.
32 MP Sphere Panoramic Imagery
The DJI Mavic Air has the ability to shoot Vertical, Horizontal and 180° panoramic imagery. On top of all that, the Mavic Air can stitch together 25 photos in less than 8 seconds to create crystal-clear 32 MP sphere panoramas.
4K 100 Mbps Video
The Mavic Air shoots videos in 4K at 30 frames per second, while recording at 100 Mbps to capture every moment in Ultra HD.
Slow Motion Videos
The Mavic Air features support for recording in 1080p at 120 frames per second. This allows the Mavic Air to capture all your high speed adventures.
HDR Photos
New HDR algorithms help you achieve the perfect exposure settings based on current light conditions. Overexposed dark areas are intelligently processed for natural transitions between highlights and shadows, while DSP acceleration allows for more efficient shooting when you are out in the field.
12 MP Stills
The Mavic Air’s amazing camera comes equipped with a 1/2.3” 12-megapixel CMOS sensor and an f/2.8 lens with a 35-mm equivalent focal length of 24 mm. This professional-grade camera will allow you to shoot breathtaking footage
8GB of Internal Storage
The Mavic Air comes with a Micro SD card slot and 8 GB of internal storage. You can save photos and videos directly to the aircraft and export files instantly through its USB 3.0 Type-C port.
Elegant Design Features
Using geometric precision, the Mavic Air's arms fold flush against its aerodynamic chassis. The magnesium alloy brackets reinforce the seven on-board cameras, rear vents dissipate heat efficiently, and the primary gimbal camera is recessed for better protection.
Amazing 3D Foldable Design
The Mavic Air is as tall and wide as a smartphone when it is folded.
Foldable Remote Controller
The remote controller features an ergonomic design that is low-profile, foldable, and can even hold your smartphone! The detachable control sticks can be stored inside the remote, efficiently saving space and maximizing comfort.
ActiveTrack Mode
The ActiveTrack feature is able to sense up to 16 subjects at the same time. ActiveTrack will follow moving targets with unprecedented accuracy.
QuickShots Mode
QuickShots provides you with six different options:
Rocket
Dronie
Circle
Helix
Asteroid
Boomerang
With the
DJI GO 4 App, you can share all of your videos to social media in seconds.
SmartCapture Mode
The SmartCapture feature allows you to interact with the Mavic Air by hand. With DJI's signature technology, hand gestures will control the drone without the need to the controller.
TapFly Mode
If you want to focus on just your shot, select TapFly in DJI GO 4, which lets you fly wherever you tap on your mobile device screen.

Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO)
The Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO) paired with the new positioning algorithm has doubled precision positioning in the Mavic Air. VIO calculated speed and altitude in real-time to locate it. The Mavic Air makes dual-camera altitute measurements while hovering or flying at any speed. The visual positioning system works from 0.5 to 30 meters, allowing it to hover more accurately indoors and heling it to respond quickly to complex environments with fine tuned control stick movement.
3D Map Building Technology
With the Mavic Air's extremely advanced sensing system, it can always locate itself with accuracy and precision. It processes data from seven individual cameras that are located on the front, bottom, and rear. These cameras sit alongside high tech infrared sensors and IMU. The Mavic Air can construct a 3D map by sensing it's environment in real-time.
Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS)
DJI has develped APAS after doing extensive research on flight path calculation. APAS will determine an appropriate flight path to automatically avoid obstacles.
Multiple Redundancies for Optimal Performance
The FlightAutonomy 2.0 features more redundant modules that increase safety during flight. The Vision Compass assists the navigation system and estimates flight direction when the compass experiences any interference. If only one vision system (front, bottom, rear) is functioning normally, the aircraft will successfully position itself with no errors. Two sets of sensor fusion algorithms are based on two independent hardware platforms, allowing the aircraft to effortlessly switch to the other in the event of an error. This provides normal functionality during every flight.

New and Improved Return to Home (RTH) Feature
The Mavic Air will fly back to you intact and unscathed with a new and improved Return to Home feature that guarantees safe travel. By recording it's real-time flight path, the Mavic Air will automatically fly in the direction of it's take-off point in the event of a signal loss, bypassing signal obstructions and reconnecting with the controller. When an obstacle is detected, it will calculate the best course of action around the obstruction according to it's current altitude. When landing, the Mavic Air will match images of the ground to images captured during take-off to ensure accuracy. When landing automatically, it will scan the landing area in real-time so it can warn the pilot if there are any remaining obstructions such as trees, people, water ect. If it detects anything, it will safely hover overhead to prevent a collision.
