Yuneec CGO3+ Gimbal Yaw Motor with Slip Ring
I can't say enough good things about this site. Got the hard to find part I needed and had the unit fixed before Yuneec even sent an email to start the process of sending it in. Part was 40$ and took an hour to put it in but saved me hundreds and several weeks. Will be coming back anytime I need something. Thanks guys, top notch service!

Yuneec CGO3+ Gimbal Yaw Motor with Slip Ring
I replaced the slip ring only on my CGO3+ and found my camera would turn on and begin spinning in circles rapidly. I found my Yaw motor was broke to the point that, it was working but the shaft had come loose from the motor in the crash and allowed it come out of calibration. Even if I had it calibrated I am sure it would have moved out of calibration again. Next I bought this $39 set that includes the Motor and slip ring. After I installed it, again I still had the spin issue but I was able to manually calibrate it using the $10 Manual Calibration Part you can find on eBay. Search eBay..... Calibration Adapter for CGO3+ CGO3 Yuneec Typhoon H 3D Printed Worked great for me. You need to see the YouTube video in the eBay description to see how to do this calibration by yourself. I am just not the type to, spend money sending something in to get fixed when I can do it myself.

Fixed my CGO3+ without sending it in for a calibration.

The stuff is helpful. Although I ordered the Motor which is not needed. But the Slip Ring works very well.

Yuneec CGO3+ Gimbal Yaw Motor with Slip Ring
Well, it's a direct factory replacement, so no issues with fit or compatibility. You might notice in the picture the bare wires - that should be your first indicator this piece can be a little tricky to install if you're not familiar with electrical/electronic components and soldering. But if you do know what you're doing (heck, I even managed to change mine out and the Typhoon H still flies) and you need this piece, look no further. For background, I had a "soft" crash with my Typhoon H, and it sustained minimal damage, but it did pull one of the wires out of the slip ring and so I just replaced the whole unit so I'd feel more comfortable with the integrity of the CGO3+.

Q:
I read somewhere that this motor of the 3 on the CGO3+, has to be software calibrated. Are these "yaw" motors already calibrated?
Asked by:
Shayne
- 6/27/2018
A:
The CGO3+ needs to be calibrated after installing new encoders, or motors. The motors do not come calibrated.

Q:
What is the purpose of this motor, and what does it exactly do? And what are the side effects of this component's failure? In other words, what will the camera no longer do upon failure of this part?
Asked by:
Lonnie
- 7/24/2017
A:
The Yaw motor will need replacement if it is damaged or bent from a crash. Behavior can vary but may include rough panning in the yaw plane, spinning violently without stopping, or complete failure of the motor.

Q:
Can you give me some examples of signs to watch for in this motor prior to complete failure that indicate excessive wear or exhaustion?
Asked by:
Lonnie
- 7/24/2017
A:
The service life has yet to be evaluated by Yuneec. All replacements we have evaluated were the result of crash damage.

Q:
Do you have an exploded view diagram of the gimbal assembly, or a picture of such? Trying to remove the motor, tough to get to screws.
Asked by:
Alan22
- 2/17/2017
A:
The Yaw Motor can only be replaced by removing the circular circuit board on the underside to access the mounting screws. Unless you have an angled screw driver, the camera ball will need to be partially removed. To accomplish this, the Roll motor attaching the ball to the frame of the gimbal will need to be unscrewed. The screws are found behind the silver sticker with 'Yuneec' on it.

Q:
Does this come pre-wired to the contact board (the six wires out of the top of the motor are soldered to the contact plate for the quick-connector on the camera mount)?
Asked by:
Alan
- 1/5/2017
A:
No. This comes as shown in the picture.
